My girlfriend made one mistake and she is in prison (Coffee Creek Correctional Facility) for at least 6 years due to manditory minimums. They are barbaric laws. I can understand someone who has committed many criminal acts getting many years, but this is the first time she has ever been in trouble with the law. She is tormented daily by career criminals, sex abusers and just out right scum. She is a mother of three beautiful children and now she has lost everything because of one mistake. Of course she has not lost me. I visit her every week and will be there for her when she is released. What really pisses me off about this is that there are many stories like my girlfriend out there. There just needs to be some sort of relief. At least good time early release for inmates who are taking classes and doing the right thing.
